CCF and Transition Cambridge offering up solutions to mark Earth Day 2017

In collaboration with partners in Washington, Hong Kong, Panama, Oxford and London, the Cambridge Conservation Initiative will be hosting #EarthOptimism, a major public outreach activity on Earth Day, 22 April 2017. Led by Nancy Knowlton from the Smithsonian, #EarthOptimism is designed to counteract the pervading sense of hopelessness surrounding many public discussions about the environment. The Cambridge event will be one of a network of global events and will combine exciting success stories told by experts with a Solutions Fair where people can discover practical ways they can make a difference in their everyday lives.

A day of two parts – Stories of Hope and the Solutions Fair

The day will be filled with inspiring talks by leading conservationists, popular naturalists and celebrity figures including Jane Goodall and David Attenborough telling their Stories of Hope. The Solutions Fair will be dynamic and interactive, with activities for people of all ages. Stalls will offer practical things you can do to make a positive impact and Cambridge Carbon Footprint and Transition Cambridge have been invited to demonstrate some of their solutions to over-consumption by inviting the public to take part in a Clothes Swap (drop clothes at 11:00am for swapping to start at 11:30am) and Repair Café (1:00 to 4:00 pm). To book your item into the Repair Café email cambridgerepaircafe@gmail.com   or go to the electronic booking form here. There will also be an energy saving stall.
