Soham Repair Café, Swish and Toy Swap - IMPORTANT UPDATE

IMPORTANT NOTICE

PRE-BOOKED ITEMS ONLY FOR REPAIR CAFE, NO DROP- IN. CLOTHES &TOY SWAP POSTPONED

Unfortunately due unforeseen circumstances with a number of volunteers choosing to minimise their social contact in light of the Coronvirus, we have taken the decision to run the Repair Café on Sunday 15th March behind closed doors *ONLY* for those that have pre-booked an item in as not to overwhelm the remaining Repairers. We will be unable to accept walk-in repairs on the day.

As a result, we will no longer be running the clothes/toy swap in parallel and the pop-up café will no longer be running either.

Sorry for the disappointment but we hope to plan another later in the year!

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Soham’s fourth Repair Café – bring along your broken item, be it a kettle, torn jeans or even a smashed phone screen (with a replacement screen of course!) – our experienced repairers will try their best to help give it a new lease of life. We are also including a community clothes and toy swap – more information below.

There will be plenty of cake and tea for sale in our pop up café to keep everyone refreshed. We welcome all items within reason (electronics, small kitchen appliances, clothing, toys, costume jewellery etc) as long as it can safely sit on a standard table in the library. If you can give us some advance notice on what you might bring and what the problem is then it will help our repairers to be prepared and maybe even advise if you could bring a spare part along to be fitted on the day. Unfortunately we are currently unable to cater for bicycles and outdoor items (e.g. powered garden tools)

If you have any queries and potential items to repair then please ask away – we politely request only one item per person to make things fair, but if we have time and you can join the queue again we will take a look. We ask all repairees to read and sign our repair agreement as we are all volunteers. Donations for repair time are more than welcome!

We have a query form (https://forms.gle/Vp6T9RWWnmVHVZVf7) to help us to collate any potential repairs so please do complete this if you have an item to bring along – pre-registered items will take priority over on-the-day walk-ins.

Volunteers repairers and other helpers are also welcome – please contact us on sohamrepaircafe@gmail.com

Community clothes and toy swap:

This will be a first collaboration to include a swap of clothes and toys – items will be collected for sorting and then the swap will open. For any queries, please email sohamswish@gmail.com

10.00 – 11.00 : Drop off (good quality) clothes and (small) toys
