The Arbury Swap, Collect and Fix-Fest

Arbury Swap, Collect and Fix-Fest is delighted to be returning to Arbury Community Centre on Sat 15th Feb, 2020.

Arbury, bring us your faulty, torn, wobbly and unwanted items and let’s have a huge swap, collect and fix-fest. Everyone is welcome and it’s a FREE event.

Programme for the day

Cambridge Repair Café (11.00 – 2.00)

Repair Cafes match experienced repairers with people with broken stuff. Please bring along your electronics and electricals, household gadgets, tools, toys, clothes, jewellery and bikes. If you can carry it, we’ll probably be able to look at it for you! No microwaves or TV’s, sorry. Booking is by far the best way to ensure your item is seen. You can book using this online form or email cambridgerepaircafe@gmail.com telling us what the item is and what’s wrong with, it if you know. Please write ‘Arbury’ in the subject line. We’ll be in touch with a time slot nearer the event. You can drop by but may have to wait. You can bring extra items but will have to wait to see if it can be fitted in.
There will be a café serving delicious homemade cakes.

Toy Swap (11.00 – 2.00)

A Toy’s Life and Beyond are inviting families to bring along unwanted toys, books, games and dressing-up costumes and swap them for things new to them. Swaps aim to keep toys out of landfill and promote eco-friendly habits from an early age.

Free skips for recycling and disposal and a ‘Take it or Leave It’ stall (9.30 – 2.00)

Veolia staff will be on hand to help you with your large household items that you can deposit into their free skips. They’ll take electricals, furniture, toys, worn out clothes, organic waste, metal items etc (no oils, paints, hazardous waste please).
Unwanted items in good condition can be dropped off at the ‘Take it or Leave It’ stall at which anyone can take away items they fancy. Run by City’s Recycling Champions.

Bulky waste collection for local people needing support (9.30 – 2.00)

Arbury residents who would struggle to remove bulky items from their property can make an appointment with the City’s Community Engagement Team to collect a maximum of three items. A registration desk will open from 9:30am and you must book your items in in person. First come, first served.

We are sorry to say that the free dog microchipping will now not be available at the Fix-Fest.

Organised by Cambridge Carbon Footprint in partnership with Transition Cambridge, Veolia, City’s Community Engagement Team, A Toy’s Life and Beyond and Arbury Community Centre. Part of the national The Big Fix day.
