The Cambridge Science Festival talk 'The Circular Economy: coming to our senses and tackling climate change'

97% of climate scientists are in firm agreement that we are facing a climate change crisis. Does the circular economy make sense as a possible solution? The linear economy, characterised by our buy it, use it, trash approach to goods is unsustainable. The circular economy, a carbon reduction and waste prevention solution is gaining momentum. Cambridge is at the vanguard of this change through Circular Cambridge, a project celebrating progressive ways to design, manufacture, access, repair and reuse the things that we want and need in our lives.

This interactive workshop with Cambridge Carbon Footprint will give participants a sense of the positives and negatives of the linear and circular economies, looking at how the circular economy might apply to our own lives and communities, and how it might help us overcome difficulties in addressing the climate change challenge.

A free event. Booking is essential and opens at 11am on Mon 12th Feb. Once open, bookings will be taken via this page or you can call 01223 301842.
