I am a Textile Artist, living in England on the borders of Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Essex and I have a wonderful view of the Great Chishill Windmill from my studio window. I love textures and colour and find that textiles is the best media for me to create my artwork.

My current Art work focuses mainly on Trees, some a little mysterious or even sinister, others are full of fun with individual themes, ideal for gifts for the person who has everything, and great for children’s bedrooms. I enjoy working on individual commissions to make each art work personal for the customer.

Alongside my ‘Arty’ things I make a range of ‘Sheepy things’ which I sell online and to a distributor in the Lake District who sells them on to gift shops in Yorkshire and Cumbria. I create my Art, because I have to! Once I get an idea in my head it swirls around there until I create it!

Description of Alison’s artwork appearing in CirculART
‘Habberdasher trees’ is a series of three pictures which include pre-used buttons and zips. Pre-owned necklaces are cut up  for my sheep strings between each sheep.

Why Alison chooses to use repurposed materials
Repurposed beads and buttons and fabrics can be unusual and I enjoy helping a charity at the same time as creating unique art.
