I am a socially engaged artist, living and working in Cambridge. I choose to work from home in preference to a dedicated studio space, as the chaos of domestic life informs my practice. I usually make and show my work in ordinary public spaces such as the street, shops, pubs, festivals and council offices, where it can be seen by a broad audience.

Description of Jane’s artwork appearing in CirculART
Art For a Fiver; a new line of cardboard cut out figures, packaged in cellophane, stapled to display cards, referencing cheap plastic pocket money toys.

What repurposed materials does Jane use
Cardboard, magazines, surplus to requirement cellophane bags, rescued by a friend from a closing down bakery and passed on to me.

Why Jane chooses to use repurposed materials
To preserve resources, and as a part of my creative process which relies on serendipity as much as judgement.
