I am an artist and an activist. Making art and working for social change are a key part of my identity and I make art simply because I have to. I believe in the power of art to create change and my work begins from an investigation of a social, political or environmental issues that are of concern to me.

I am keen to highlight the benefits of the circular economy, by upcycling and repurposing charity shop items. My art concerns social, political and environmental themes and I am also eager to support the campaign aims of a charity, to bring about social change to support people and the planet. This is a wonderful opportunity to spread the message of supporting our environment and also messages concerning specific charities to a wider audience.

Description of Jill’s artwork appearing in CirculART
Focusing on painting and drawing, Jill has selected thematically related objects, discarded by the charity shop to work onto, creating a conversation.

Why Jill chooses to use repurposed materials
I use repurposed materials, because I care deeply about this planet and future generations who will have to live with the mess we have created.
