I am an artist and travel writer. I was born in Zambia, central Africa, and spent most of my childhood there and in South Africa. I discovered that art was an amazing way to keep my love for my home country alive. Most of my pieces are of African wildlife, birds and pet dogs and I generally use traditional art mediums such as acrylics and pastels on canvas and paper. As my interest has moved to creating more textured and dimensional art, I recently began experimenting with textured gels, spray paints and hard boards. I am currently working on a series of abstract birds of prey using acrylics on canvas. Later this year I will be starting a welding project using reclaimed metal to create small to medium size sculptures of wildlife. When I heard about the CirculART event, I thought it was a novel idea to promote recycling and upcycling through the passion of artistic creations. I am excited to be involved and show my work by collaborating with a local animal charity who have kindly offered display space.

3D sculptures or collages of birds of prey in mixed media using upcycled materials – plastic, cardboard and paper, metal.

This is the first time I have used repurposed material and I am excited to support a worthy cause and challenge my skills.
