Cambourne will host its first Repair Café on Saturday December 7th, at the Hub Community Centre between 11am-2pm. Repair Cafes are community events that match people who need stuff fixed with people who like fixing things.
This is a free event to which you can bring along your broken item. Our volunteer repairers will assess and then attempt to repair the item. If repair is not possible then they may be able to offer advice on where you can take the item for further assessment. There are no promises and no guarantees, but if something can be saved the repairers will give it their best efforts.
One key principle of a Repair Café is that you sit with the repairer whilst they attempt the repair. You can learn more about your broken item and the repair process.
Free tea, coffee and cake will be served!
We welcome electrical and mechanical items for repair (such as clocks, toasters, blenders, kettles, lamps, CD players, coffee machines and headphones), clothing, toys, jewellery and bicycles.
We cannot accept large kitchen appliances, microwaves, computer equipment and mobile phones.
Please book your item in via the online form here and provide as much detail as possible about the fault. Items will be allocated to a repairer and you will receive a time slot to bring your item to the Café.
You can turn up on the day but bookings will take priority and you may have to wait, or there may not be time to have your item seen by a repairer. We politely request only one item per person, but if we have time and you can wait as necessary then we’ll happily take a look.
We look forward to seeing you!
