Launch and information evening

Circular Cambridge will share and demonstrate exciting new thinking around the circular economy – an approach that rethinks how we design, manufacture, use and consume the things we want and need in our lives. Circular Cambridge will showcase all the positive things already happening in Cambridge in recycling, reuse, sharing, repair and eco-design & manufacture. We hope also to inspire new actions and initiatives by inviting individuals and organisations to organise or take part in practical one off or ongoing events, activities and challenges. How people choose to take part will vary, but examples might include running swaps, upcycling and crafting workshops, challenges, DIY skillshares, talks, film screenings, reflective events, or starting a sharing scheme.

Cambridge Carbon Footprint will facilitate the Circular Cambridge festival, initiating and co-ordinating lots of publicity and promotion via print and social media, hosting a dedicated Circular Cambridge website and Facebook page, organising a showcase finale event in the summer, and providing support and advice to participating groups and organisations.

To kick things off we are holding an invitation only Circular Cambridge launch and information evening. We are delighted to be welcoming along to the evening Craig Bennett the new CEO of Friends of the Earth as our keynote speaker and Gerrard Fisher, Special Adviser at WRAP and an expert on the circular economy. On the evening we’ll also have a ‘human library’ of local circular experts to chat to, plenty of time for sharing and networking, and some delicious nibbles from FoodCycle too.
