Free electrical waste recycling days in Camb, 29th Feb and 1st March

Cambridge City Council, South Cambs District Council, the University of Cambridge and others are partnering to offer residents free electricals recycling over two days at the Sedgwick Site Car Park,
CB3 9DD. Any items that come with a plug or battery, large or small will be recycled or reused.

Small electrical appliances will go to a plant in Grantham run by Environcom. Re-useable will be tested and re-sold. Broken items will be shredded and the components separated out using magnets and other sorting equipment. Valuables like gold, zinc and nickel are sold to manufacturers of mobile phones and other new electrical devices. You can watch a video showing how electrical items are recycled

This is a fantastic initiative, please have a hunt through your home/shed/garage for items to bring along.
