How to start and run a Repair Café in Cambridgeshire

Cambridgeshire is very proud of its thriving Repair Cafes.  Repair Cafés are a way of bringing together people who have something that’s broken, with people who know how to fix it. Typically a room full of engineers and repairers will spend the afternoon fixing anything from phones and tablets to lamps and bicycles. They are growing in popularity all the time, with nearly one thousand in 22 countries -from Chile to Latvia!

If you would consider getting involved, you are warmly invited to come along and find out about starting and running your own local Repair Café. Nicole Barton of Cambridge Carbon Footprint, engineer Chris Lee of the Royston Repair Café and Kate Boursnell of Transition Cambridge will share their experiences of setting up Repair Cafes and you’ll be able to ask questions and meet others also interested in doing the same. South Cambridgeshire District Council is supporting this event.

This is a free event but please do let us know you are coming by emailing: siobhan.mellon@scambs.gov.uk

Please turn up from 7.15pm, the community room is part of the sheltered housing on St Audrey’s Close, there’s plenty of street parking if needed.
