I’ve always created and made things, using various media over time.  Textiles have always been a constant theme and finally I decided to get serious about it and do a City and Guilds Embroidery Course.  This work was part of the design work for the Part 1 course.  I’d seen someone else using corrugated  cardboard in their work and liked what they’d done and filed the idea away.  My sister sent me a photography book of Sydney, where she lives and when I came across a photo of a corrugated iron shed,  I decided that it was time to have a play.  So the corrugated cardboard was some packaging that arrived on the doorstep and with left over cocktail sticks and a bit of copper from another project and some paint and glue I started creating.  Pretty cheap materials, which is always a plus and out of almost nothing I created something really unusual and interesting.

Designs made with corrugated cardboard, cocktail sticks and found copper pieces and wire.

It stimulates my creativity. Its exciting and sometimes challenging turning everyday objects into something new and unexpected.  I’m often surprised by the end result.
